Football Meets Fashion in New York as PUMA and KidSuper Unveil Stunning Special Edition Kits

A Night of Style and Sport in Manhattan

In a vibrant celebration blending football passion with streetwear creativity, PUMA and KidSuper Studios launched their highly anticipated Special Edition kits during a star-studded event in New York City. Held in the heart of Manhattan, the launch spotlighted football culture’s intersection with contemporary fashion, bringing together fans, athletes, and artists under one roof.

The event marked the official reveal of an exclusive kit collection featuring designs for seven globally renowned football clubs, including Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Palmeiras, Monterrey, Al Hilal, RB Salzburg, and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Football Heritage Reimagined by KidSuper’s Artistic Vision

Colm Dillane, the creative mind behind Brooklyn-based label KidSuper, introduced his dynamic collection at the event. Known for pushing creative boundaries, Dillane’s designs explore football through an artistic lens—combining hand-drawn graphics, watercolor palettes, and expressive motifs rooted in each club’s identity.

“Football is more than a game—it’s performance art,” Dillane shared. “This collection is all about emotion, storytelling, and self-expression.”

The Manchester City Kit Takes Center Stage

The Manchester City section of the event stood out with a dedicated display featuring a custom Poznań mural—referencing the iconic fan celebration. The kit itself revives the classic diagonal sash design, beloved by fans since the 1970s, and overlays it with KidSuper’s signature watercolor brushstrokes. A fresh white canvas anchors the design, with black and red sashes evoking the spirit of City’s historic away kits.

A matching goalkeeper kit introduces a vibrant neon sun tone, paired with a contrasting black-and-yellow sash, symbolizing the energy of the club's supporters.

Former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott, present at the event, reflected on the emotional connection fans will feel with the new jersey. “This design brings back memories of moments that shaped our identity as a club,” Lescott noted. “It’s powerful to see fashion and memory come together like this.”

Global Clubs Join the Movement

The collection doesn’t stop at Manchester City. Each team in the collaboration receives its own customized set, blending club heritage with KidSuper’s bold aesthetic.

Borussia Dortmund

The classic black-and-yellow kit receives a modern refresh with painted honeycomb motifs symbolizing strength and unity. The goalkeeper kit surprises with a vibrant pink base and yellow accents—defying tradition with flair.

Palmeiras

A tribute to the club’s founding by Italian immigrants and its 1951 Club World Championship victory, the Palmeiras kit shines in a golden base with baroque-inspired leaf patterns. A dramatic red-and-gold goalkeeper jersey complements the theme.

RB Salzburg

Inspired by the Alpine landscape and the Edelweiss flower, this design blends ivory, lemon, and baby blue in graceful, sweeping strokes. The keeper’s kit leans into cooler tones with a bold ultra-blue foundation.

Mamelodi Sundowns

Reflecting the club’s spirited playing style—nicknamed “shoeshine and piano”—this home kit merges sunny yellows with mountain blue, green, and white detailing. The goalkeeper kit introduces a regal purple base for added contrast.

Al Hilal

Echoing its namesake “crescent moon,” Al Hilal’s kit brings celestial energy with tonal blues and a lunar-inspired graphic. The goalkeeper version opts for a snowy alpine white, detailed with serene navy accents.

Monterrey

Bold and geometric, Monterrey’s white jersey celebrates the club’s Mexican roots with hand-painted mountain illustrations and rich navy touches. A striking pink base and contrasting details define the goalkeeper kit.

Catwalk Finale and Live Performances

Capping off the evening, the runway came alive as models, football freestylers, and performers showcased the kits in a live catwalk segment. The energy in the room mirrored the electric spirit of matchday, uniting fashion lovers and football fans alike.

More Than Just Kits – A Cultural Statement

Beyond their visual appeal, the PUMA x KidSuper kits represent a new wave in sportswear—where art, culture, and sport converge. This launch underscores a rising trend of fashion-forward football apparel, made not only for the pitch but also for the streets.

Each club’s collection includes not just a jersey but a full lifestyle set: Retro Shirts, Graphic Tees, Shorts, Pants, and Reversible Jackets, creating a versatile wardrobe that tells a story from head to toe.

A Creative Evolution Years in the Making

The collaboration between PUMA and KidSuper began in 2020 and has evolved steadily. After Dillane’s design debut for Barnsley in 2023, this latest rollout takes things to a global scale, just in time for the upcoming Club World Cup.

The result is a bold and unorthodox approach to football fashion—one that captures not only the identity of each club but also the vibrant pulse of their communities.

As fans across the world gear up for the Club World Cup, this collaboration gives them something extra to celebrate. With each kit serving as a wearable canvas of heritage and expression, PUMA and KidSuper have crafted more than just uniforms—they’ve created symbols of pride, passion, and personality.

Whether you’re a lifelong supporter or a streetwear enthusiast, this collection invites you to wear your team’s story like never before.
