Three Arrested in San Antonio After Alleged $1,000 Home Depot Theft Involving Printed Fake Receipts
San Antonio police arrested three people accused of stealing more than $1,000 in merchandise from a local Home Depot using counterfeit receipts. According to court affidavits, Maria Elena Guevara, 37, Roland Saldana, 52, and Rogelio Saldana, 55, face multiple state jail felony charges, including forgery and organized retail theft, following an investigation last month.
The arrests occurred after store employees reported a repeat theft offender leaving the store with high-value items. Police arrested Guevara in the store's parking lot, where she claimed to have a receipt for the merchandise. She then led officers to a truck containing Roland and Rogelio Saldana. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered a printer plugged into an outlet and a receipt with visible typos, an incorrect barcode, and a stamp dated "completed APR 27 2026." Home Depot loss prevention staff confirmed the receipt was fraudulent, and police reported finding additional fake receipts in Guevara's purse. The total value of the stolen goods was documented at $1,051.80.
Court and jail records detail the ongoing legal proceedings for the three suspects. Guevara, charged with forgery and engaging in organized criminal activity, was booked on April 28 and released on bond on May 9. Roland Saldana, initially charged with organized retail theft, bonded out on April 29, but was booked again on May 14 on additional charges of forgery and evading arrest before bonding out the following day. Rogelio Saldana was booked on May 19 on charges of forgery and organized retail theft, and he remains in the Bexar County jail.
