Fort Worth Man Confesses to Killing Missing Flight Attendant and Dumping Her Body Near Bridge
A Fort Worth man has been arrested after allegedly confessing to the murder of 57-year-old Rana “Rain” Soluri, a flight attendant who had been missing for nearly three months. According to police, 66-year-old Dennis Day admitted to strangling Soluri inside his home and later disposing of her body near a bridge in Bowie, Texas.
Soluri, who worked for Envoy Air, was reported missing by a coworker on June 11. Investigators discovered that no one had seen or heard from her since March. She had reportedly been living with Day, whom she had known for years and considered a longtime friend.
When police initially questioned Day, he claimed he hadn’t seen Soluri since March and said he had been moving her belongings into a storage unit. Officers noted his lack of concern during questioning and discovered that Soluri had purchased a car just a week before her disappearance.
On June 23, police reviewed surveillance footage from Day’s home and found a disturbing video showing him dragging what appeared to be a lifeless body into his backyard. Day later admitted that he had strangled Soluri on his kitchen floor and dragged her body outside. He said he noticed the surveillance camera capturing the incident, disabled the system, and then placed her body in a large black trash bin.
Day told police he drove to a bridge near Bowie, where he disposed of Soluri’s body. Despite searches in the area, authorities have not yet located her remains.
He has been formally charged with murder, and jail records show his bond set at $200,000.
Envoy Air, where Soluri had worked since March 2017, issued a statement expressing deep sorrow over her death and confirmed their cooperation with law enforcement. The airline is also providing support to Soluri’s family during this difficult time.
In a message to employees, the airline wrote: “It is with our deepest sympathy that we inform you of the passing of our friend and co-worker, DFW-based FA Rain Soluri. The family is planning her services. Once we have the details, we will send them out. Please keep the family and close friends in your thoughts during this difficult time of loss.”
