Bangladeshi Woman Found Dead in Bengaluru: Police Suspect Sexual Assault and Murder

In a deeply disturbing incident, a 28-year-old Bangladeshi woman was found murdered at the Kalkere Lake bed in Bengaluru’s Ramamurthy Nagar. The woman, identified as Najma, was reportedly living in the city illegally, lacking the necessary documents or a valid passport, according to local authorities.

The tragic discovery was made on Friday morning when a passerby alerted the police after spotting Najma’s lifeless body in a deserted area. Investigators revealed that the victim bore visible injuries to her skull and face, alongside strangulation marks, indicating she suffered a brutal assault before her death.

Najma worked as a domestic help in an apartment in Kalkere and resided with her husband, Suman, in Ramakrishna Layout near her workplace. According to her husband, Najma went missing on Thursday evening after informing him she was heading to work. When she failed to return home, her family grew concerned, only to later receive devastating news about her murder.

Authorities stated that Suman, Najma's husband, had legally entered India six years ago and holds valid documents, including a Bangladeshi passport. However, Najma reportedly entered the country illegally. The couple has three children, who currently reside with relatives in Bangladesh.

The police have launched an intensive investigation into the case. Crime scene teams and forensic experts have been deployed to gather evidence. Preliminary findings suggest that Najma sustained severe injuries, possibly inflicted with a heavy object like a boulder. Officials are awaiting the autopsy report to confirm the extent of the sexual assault.

Speaking to the media, a senior police officer mentioned that Najma’s brother, who also lives in Bengaluru, corroborated the information about her undocumented status. The case has been registered by the Ramamurthy Nagar police, who have initiated a manhunt to identify and apprehend the suspect responsible for this heinous crime.
