Bengaluru Boy’s Disappearance Ends in Horror as Neighbor Confesses to Murder
In a heartbreaking and disturbing turn of events, the mysterious disappearance of an eight-year-old boy in Bengaluru has ended with the arrest of a neighbor who allegedly took the child’s life in a fit of rage.
The accused, a 36-year-old security guard named Chandeswar Matur, reportedly killed the boy, Ramananda, after growing frustrated with the child’s repeated bullying of his two young daughters. According to investigators, Matur had warned the boy several times, but the conflicts continued. On Tuesday night, driven by anger, Matur allegedly lured the child to the secluded Rayasandra lakebed and smothered him with his bare hands. He then hid the body in a sludge-filled area and returned home, attempting to carry on as if nothing had happened.
The boy’s family, alarmed by his sudden disappearance, filed a missing person complaint the next day. Police quickly reviewed CCTV footage from the area and spotted the child last seen walking with Matur. This critical clue led to Matur’s detention for questioning.
However, the investigation faced a unique challenge—Matur only spoke a regional dialect from Bihar. Officers had to rely on his neighbors for translation before they could piece together the details. Eventually, Matur confessed and led the police to the hidden spot near the lakebed. After hours of painstaking effort, authorities recovered the body buried deep in the sludge.
What makes the case even more tragic is that both families knew each other well. They were not only neighbors but also came from the same region in Bihar. The children often played together, and their parents worked in the same apartment complex—some as security staff, others as domestic help.
The police have registered a murder case and are now probing how Matur convinced the child to go with him. While the initial findings show no visible injuries on the body, the final cause of death will be confirmed by a post-mortem report.
This devastating incident has left the local community shaken and highlights the dangers of unresolved conflict and unchecked anger.
