Teen Delivery Boy Killed Over One-Sided Love Angle in Bengaluru Suburb

What began as a young man’s innocent affection for a girl ended in a brutal act of jealousy and violence on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

Nineteen-year-old Preetham R, who worked as a delivery executive, was allegedly kidnapped and murdered by four individuals, including a man who reportedly had personal ties to the girl Preetham liked. The tragedy unfolded near Devanahalli and has shocked the local community.

According to the investigation, Preetham had expressed interest in a girl from Gantiganahalli. This didn’t sit well with Srikanth, a 22-year-old who is said to be related to the girl and is now identified as the prime suspect. A week before the incident, Srikanth had allegedly warned Preetham to stay away, even assaulting him in a previous encounter.

On the night of May 2, the situation escalated. Srikanth, along with three others — Sanjay (23), Charan (21), and Shivakumar (22) — reportedly abducted Preetham around 10:30 pm. He was taken to a remote area behind the Government Lower Primary School in Niragantepalya, where he was assaulted and left for dead. His body was discovered the next morning by a passerby who alerted the police.

Preetham’s father, devastated by the loss, shared with authorities that his son’s friend had confided in him about Preetham’s feelings for the girl. That small confession has now become a key detail in a chilling case of rage-fueled vengeance.

All four accused have been arrested and booked on charges of kidnapping and murder. They are currently in judicial custody as further investigation continues.

This tragic incident serves as a grim reminder of how possessiveness and unaddressed anger can spiral into unthinkable acts. For the family of a young man simply going about his daily life, it has left behind a void that justice alone can never truly fill.
