Capital Infrastructure Damaged Following Massive Air Assault

KYIV, Ukraine — Russian forces launched a major wave of missile and drone strikes targeting Kyiv on Tuesday, killing five people and injuring nearly 30 others as emergency teams searched damaged residential buildings.

The early-morning barrage inflicted extensive structural damage across the capital, striking at least 14 multi-story residential buildings, educational facilities, medical clinics, and industrial warehouses. A local television broadcasting studio was also partially destroyed by an exploding drone.

Ukrainian Air Defense Intercepts Cruise Missiles

Ukrainian military officials reported that air defense systems intercepted the majority of incoming cruise missiles, though ballistic missiles and loitering munitions managed to penetrate defensive barriers. The assault followed a temporary pause in long-range strikes during international diplomatic meetings.

Collateral strikes were reported across eight additional Ukrainian provinces, causing significant disruptions to regional rail transport and energy infrastructure networks.
