Overnight Missile Attack in Kyiv Results in One Fatality and Eight Injuries
One person was killed and eight others injured during a Russian missile attack on Kyiv that occurred around 1:30 a.m. local time, local authorities reported. The assault lasted several hours, causing explosions throughout the capital and igniting fires in five districts.
The Ukrainian State Emergency Service reported damage to residential buildings, office and industrial sites, a dormitory, and vehicles. Rescue operations included the extraction of four individuals from a burning home in the Sviatoshynskyi district and residents from a three-story building in the Shevchenkivskyi district. Firefighters also managed to contain a fire in a non-residential building and responded to incidents in the Solomyanskyi, Desnianskyi, and Dnipro districts. The recent attack is part of a series of large-scale strikes on Kyiv amid ongoing concerns regarding Ukraine's air defense capabilities against such missile threats.
