San Antonio Man Identified in Murder-Suicide Incident Involving Officer Shooting
Albert Nixon Richter IV has been identified as the suspect in a murder-suicide incident that left his estranged wife, Brianna Nicole Richter, dead and an officer wounded. The incident occurred on Friday at Red Hawk Ridge near Hardy Oak Boulevard.
According to police, Richter allegedly forced entry into the home with a handgun, fatally shot his wife, and then barricaded himself inside. Neighbors reported hearing gunfire, and an officer was shot in the stomach while responding to the scene. The officer is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Richter was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and both he and Brianna Richter had injuries to the head. The Bexar County Medical Examiner ruled Brianna's death a homicide and Richter's a suicide. The couple's two children, aged 8 and 12, were safely escorted from the home.
The incident is under investigation, and officials are emphasizing the need for psychological support for the children affected by this tragedy.
