Eau Claire Teacher Charged With Multiple Child Sex Offenses

Nadia Horn, a 22-year-old special education teacher at North High School in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, was charged Monday with several child sex crimes following her arrest last week, according to court records and local authorities.

Court documents detail that Horn is facing charges including second-degree sexual assault of a child under 16, two counts of child enticement, and two counts of sexual assault of a child by a person working or volunteering with children. Horn appeared in Eau Claire County Court on Monday for her initial appearance.

The criminal complaint outlines that police interviewed one of the alleged victims—a 16-year-old North High School student—who said Horn bought him a cell phone and began communicating with him via Snapchat, where she allegedly sent him explicit images. Horn told police she believed she had sexual intercourse with the first victim three times at her Eau Claire apartment, admitting, "I made a mistake." She further acknowledged sexual encounters with a second 16-year-old student on two occasions, describing the encounters as "mutual."

Horn also reported bringing both alleged victims and another student to her apartment in March, where she provided them with wine at their request. Surveillance footage reportedly corroborates that Horn and the three students entered her apartment on March 15 and left the following morning.

Horn was arrested on March 25 and later released after posting a $15,000 cash bond set during her court appearance. She is due in court for another hearing on May 20. If convicted of all charges, Horn could face up to 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

According to the Eau Claire Area School District, Horn has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of legal proceedings. The investigation is ongoing.
