CHICAGO, Illinois — Chicago mayoral candidate Toni Brooks outlined her 2027 campaign platform on Tuesday, focusing on neighborhood revitalization, grassroots public safety, and local economic development.

Brooks, an Army National Guard veteran, announced that her campaign organization has gathered petition signatures over the past month, building around a central framework focused on housing stability, community wealth building, and public safety innovation.

Proposed 50,000-Person Citizen Responder Program

Key platform proposals include establishing a 50,000-person trained citizen responder network to provide emergency first-aid, CPR, and conflict resolution support prior to professional arrival, alongside expanding sworn police officer ranks.

Brooks also pledged to allocate 95% of her first-year mayoral salary to a community-directed shared power fund, as the field of candidates expands ahead of the 2027 municipal election.
