Suspect Arrested in Delaware County on Philadelphia Murder Charges
On a Wednesday morning, U.S. Marshals arrested Tyvine Jones at an apartment complex on Lansdowne Avenue in Delaware County. The arrest occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. after officers received a tip.
Following his arrest, authorities transported Jones to the Philadelphia Police Department's homicide detective division for processing. The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed his apprehension and transfer to Philadelphia.
Charges Linked to Three Philadelphia Homicides
Officials stated that Jones is charged with three murders that occurred in Philadelphia between August 2020 and September 2022. The U.S. Marshals Service described Jones as an accused gang member and alleged hitman associated with the "Blumberg" street gang in Philadelphia.
According to law enforcement, the first alleged murder took place in the 2200 block of West Diamond Street in August 2020. The second alleged incident occurred in the 1600 block of Erie Avenue in May 2022. The third alleged murder was reported in the 1600 block of Creston Street in September 2022.
Authorities reported that the victims in these three incidents were 16, 20, and 23 years old. Officials have not released additional details about the victims in the information provided.
Identification and Law Enforcement Actions
Law enforcement officials stated that Jones also uses the alias "Eerd." They reported that he has a tattoo on his neck reading "Blumberg Baby." These identifiers were noted by authorities in connection with his alleged affiliation with the Blumberg street gang.
Prior to the arrest, U.S. Marshals were offering a $5,000 reward for information that would lead to Jones's apprehension. The agency credited a tip for enabling officers to locate and arrest Jones at the Lansdowne Avenue apartment complex in Delaware County.
