Man Arrested in Fatal North Phoenix Shooting Nearly Two Months After Deadly Incident
Authorities have arrested a 65-year-old man in connection with the May shooting death of 30-year-old Seth Moisoff, marking a significant breakthrough in a case that remained unresolved for nearly two months.
The fatal shooting occurred on the evening of May 19, when officers responded to reports of gunfire near 35th Avenue and Rose Garden Lane in north Phoenix. Upon arrival, police discovered Moisoff suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
After weeks of investigation, detectives were able to identify Joseph Jennings as the primary suspect. Authorities had considered Jennings armed and dangerous, prompting heightened efforts to locate him while continuing to gather evidence.
On July 14, Phoenix police confirmed that Jennings had been taken into custody following what they described as extensive investigative work. He has since been booked on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with Moisoff’s death.
At this time, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and officials have not disclosed whether Jennings and Moisoff had any prior relationship. Investigators continue to examine the case as they work to determine the full circumstances that led to the deadly encounter.
Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the shooting to come forward as the investigation remains active.
