MTU Maintenance Expands in Fort Worth with Major Investment at Alliance Airport
MTU Maintenance, a global leader in aircraft engine services, has signed a 30-year lease with the City of Fort Worth and plans to invest $120 million to upgrade a 43,000-square-foot facility at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport.
The facility, currently known as MTU Maintenance Dallas, will be renamed MTU Maintenance Fort Worth beginning September 1, pending final approvals. The move signals the company's long-term commitment to North Texas and its growing role in the global aviation sector.
According to company projections, the investment is expected to create 1,200 new direct jobs and up to 2,000 indirect jobs across services, logistics, and infrastructure.
“We have a clear business strategy for regional collaboration, are committed to job creation, and both excited and prepared for significant growth,” said Gernot Sell, managing director of MTU Maintenance Fort Worth.
This expansion is a key part of MTU’s North American growth plan. The goal is to increase operational capacity and evolve the site from an on-site service center into a fully functional facility for disassembly, assembly, and testing of aircraft engines.
MTU Aero Engines, the parent company based in Germany, currently supports over 1,100 customers worldwide, offering a range of maintenance, leasing, and asset management services for more than 30 different engine types.
