The state's Director General of Police, Deepam Seth, confirmed that the distressing event came to light on April 30th. He stated that immediate action was taken, with a formal complaint (FIR) registered without delay, leading to the prompt arrest of the accused individual, who has since been jailed.

"We will ensure that the probe is conducted in a time-bound manner and the accused gets a harsh punishment," the DGP affirmed, emphasizing the commitment to a thorough and rapid investigation. He also mentioned that comprehensive measures are in place to safeguard the victim and her family during this difficult time. To maintain calm and prevent any potential disturbances, additional police personnel have been deployed in the area, ensuring the law and order situation remains stable.
