Leopard Sighting Sparks Fear in Village as Forest Team Steps Up Patrol
People in Chhatiya village, near Garur in Bageshwar, are scared because they keep seeing a leopard. This has happened after leopards were also seen in other nearby places.
A villager named Pramod Joshi said everyone is worried. So, the villagers have asked the forest department to send their teams to patrol the area regularly. They also want the department to put up a cage to catch the leopard.
A forest officer, Kewalanand Pandey, said that their teams are already keeping an eye on the area. He also asked the villagers to help by cleaning up bushes and tall grass around their houses, so the leopard has fewer places to hide. The villagers are hoping the forest department will do something soon to make them feel safe again.
