Scooter-Bike Collision in Chorgalia Claims Young Man’s Life

A tragic road accident in Chorgalia, Haldwani, resulted in the untimely death of a 26-year-old man after his bike collided with a scooter on Sunday night. The impact caused him to hit his head on a stone, leading to fatal injuries as he was not wearing a helmet. Following a post-mortem, the police handed over the body to his family.

Accident Details

The victim, Shubham Arya, son of Jayaram, was a resident of Lakhan Mandi in Chorgalia. He worked at a company in the Sidcul industrial area in Sitarganj. Reports indicate that around 9 PM, while returning home from work on his bike, a scooter rider abruptly crossed the road near Kadabas, leading to a direct collision. The crash threw Shubham off balance, causing his head to strike a large roadside stone.

Scooter Rider Flees, Investigation Underway

Following the accident, the scooter rider fled the scene, leaving Shubham critically injured. He was rushed to STH hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Shubham was the eldest among three siblings. His father is a farmer, while his mother is a homemaker. According to Chorgalia police in-charge Rajesh Joshi, an investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
