Telangana High Court Issues Notices in Land Dispute Case
The Telangana High Court has issued notices to key officials, including the Warangal Urban District Collector, Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), and Kazipet Tahsildar, following a writ petition challenging a land allotment decision.
Petitioners Contest Government’s Land Allocation
Justice K. Sharath took up the case after P. Shyam Kumar and others filed a petition questioning the government’s allocation of their land to 11 individuals under the Lavoni Patta scheme. The petitioners argued that a previous ruling by the Land Reforms Appellate Tribunal in Warangal had exempted this agricultural land from being classified as surplus under land ceiling laws.
Allegations of Administrative Inaction
The petitioners further claimed that despite legal proceedings favoring their ownership, authorities failed to take action to restore the land to them. Recognizing the seriousness of the issue, the High Court issued notices to the concerned officials, seeking their response on the matter. The case will now proceed with further legal examination.
This legal development underscores ongoing land disputes and the importance of regulatory compliance in land allocation processes.
