Hyderabad Hospital CEO Arrested in High-Profile Cocaine Bust After Secret Drug Deal Unraveled

In a dramatic turn of events, a prominent hospital CEO from Hyderabad has been arrested for allegedly purchasing a significant quantity of cocaine, shedding light on a startling case of substance abuse involving a senior medical professional.

Namrata Chigurupati, 34, was apprehended by law enforcement officials as she received a courier containing cocaine valued at ₹5 lakh. The drug parcel had reportedly been dispatched from Mumbai by a known contact, Vansh Dhakkar, and was delivered to her by his associate, Balakrishna, in the Rayadurgam area of Hyderabad.

According to investigators, the entire transaction had been coordinated via WhatsApp. After selecting the quantity and confirming the deal, Namrata made an online transfer to complete the payment. Authorities were already tracking the movement of the drugs and intervened just in time to catch the exchange in progress.

Upon arrest, the police seized 53 grams of high-grade cocaine, ₹10,000 in cash, and two mobile phones believed to contain key communication records related to the drug deal. Both Namrata and Balakrishna were taken into custody and have since been remanded to judicial custody.

During questioning, Namrata reportedly admitted to having spent around ₹70 lakh on narcotics over a period of time, painting a troubling picture of long-term substance use. Her arrest has shocked many, especially given her high-ranking position in the healthcare sector and the responsibilities it entails.
