Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Result in Six Deaths, Including a Child
Israeli airstrikes in Gaza on Sunday resulted in the deaths of at least six Palestinians, including a 9-year-old girl, and injured over a dozen others, according to local health officials. A drone strike targeted a blacksmith shop in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood, killing four individuals, as confirmed by officials at Shifa hospital. The Israeli military acknowledged the strike, stating it aimed at 'terrorist infrastructure' and later identified it as a Hamas weapon production site.
Following the initial strikes, the military issued evacuation orders to Palestinians. Approximately an hour later, further airstrikes hit the same location, injuring 14 people, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. In a separate incident, Israeli gunfire in a displacement camp in central Gaza killed Tala Abu Matar, 9, although the Israeli military claimed it was unaware of this incident. Additionally, a strike on a displacement tent in Khan Younis resulted in one death. The Israeli military described its operations as routine but did not confirm any casualties. Since the ceasefire began on October 10, at least 1,098 Palestinians, including 260 children, have been reported killed, while five Israeli soldiers have also died.
