Sail Boston 2026 Set to Welcome 50 Ships from 21 Countries
The Boston Harbor is preparing for Sail Boston 2026, which will feature 50 ships from 21 countries, including a mix of tall ships and military vessels. The event is scheduled to take place from Saturday, July 11 to Thursday, July 16. Many ships are already en route, with some visible from the air, as reported by passengers on incoming flights.
Charlestown has been bustling with activity in anticipation of the event, with local residents noting varying estimates of how many ships will dock in the area. Richard Wahler, a Charlestown resident, mentioned hearing about six to 13 ships expected at the piers and Menino Park.
Families are planning to view the ships, with Wayne Barber expressing his intention to beat the crowds for a chance to board a vessel. Sail Boston organizers recommend viewing spots including Castle Island, Fan Pier, and the Charlestown Navy Yard for those unable to board the ships.
As the event approaches, excitement is building in the community, with expectations of heavy attendance and a vibrant atmosphere during the summer event.
