Four Injured in Shooting During World Cup Celebration in East Los Angeles
Four individuals were injured in a shooting during a celebration of Mexico's World Cup performance in East Los Angeles on Sunday night. The incident occurred around 9:35 p.m. at the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Leonard Avenue, following an argument that escalated into gunfire, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Two men were the primary targets of the shooting and were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A woman and a minor, who were also injured, contacted deputies at separate locations nearby. Initial reports suggested multiple shootings, but authorities later confirmed that all injuries were linked to the same incident. As of Monday morning, no arrests had been made, and information about the shooter remains unavailable.
