KERRVILLE, Texas – The Cailloux Theater in Kerrville was nearly full on Saturday afternoon for the Symphony of the Hills’ Stars, Stripes, and Spirit Remembrance & Resilience Ceremony and Concert. This event not only celebrated America’s 250th birthday but also served as a tribute to the 119 lives lost in the Guadalupe River floods last year.

Kerrville Mayor Joe Herring expressed the community's ongoing grief, stating that the concert was a way to honor the victims and their families. Governor Greg Abbott, who attended the event with First Lady Cecilia Abbott, emphasized the importance of remembering those who perished, describing them as integral members of the community. He praised the resilience of Kerrville, likening its recovery from the floods to the founding fathers' determination in establishing the nation.
