Three children died on Geneva Lake in Wisconsin after a recreational boat capsized during a severe storm on Friday. The Geneva Lake Law Enforcement Agency reported that the boat, carrying six adults and four children, was caught in dangerous conditions as the storm intensified. Despite efforts to navigate to safety, the vessel was overwhelmed by high winds and waves, leading to its capsizing and eventual sinking.

First responders managed to rescue six adults and one child from the water, but three children were reported missing. Following an intensive search, the bodies of the three missing children were recovered. Emergency medical personnel administered lifesaving measures at the scene and during transport to local medical facilities, but all three were pronounced dead.

Officials confirmed that all four children on the boat were wearing life jackets at the time of the incident. The victims are believed to be under the age of 13, but their identities have not been released pending family notification. The Geneva Lake Law Enforcement Agency and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources are investigating the circumstances surrounding the capsizing. Both agencies expressed condolences to the families affected by this tragedy.

Authorities emphasized the importance of monitoring weather conditions while boating, urging all boaters to seek safe harbor when severe weather approaches.
