Authorities in Monaco have identified 39-year-old Anastasiia Berezovska as the main suspect in a bombing that occurred on June 29, 2026, targeting Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev. Prosecutors allege that Berezovska disguised herself as a man during the attack, which took place at a luxury apartment building in Monaco.

Following the explosion, which injured Yermolaiev and two others, Berezovska fled to France and then drove to Italy in a rented German-registered vehicle. The sophistication of the bomb suggests that multiple individuals may have been involved, according to prosecutors. Two men were arrested in Monaco shortly after the attack but were released due to insufficient evidence.

Yermolaiev, along with a woman and a child, sustained injuries in the blast, with one victim reported to be in critical condition. The bombing has been characterized by Monaco's prosecutor as an attempted assassination, marking a rare instance of such violence in the city-state, which is known for its security measures.

Investigations are ongoing, with German police searching the rental apartment and vehicle linked to Berezovska. Security footage reportedly shows the suspect scouting the area prior to the attack, raising concerns about the planning involved.
