Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Gere Foundation Sign Environmental Accord in Monte Carlo

MONTE CARLO, Monaco — In a significant gathering dedicated to international environmental stewardship, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Gere Foundation formally executed a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding in Monte Carlo, establishing a joint global partnership for oceanic and planetary conservation.

The environmental pact was signed during official proceedings marking the 20th anniversary of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and celebrated actor-philanthropist Richard Gere presided over the ceremony, convening marine researchers, climate economists, and international conservation delegates at the Principality's scientific institutions.

Under the framework of the agreement, both philanthropic organizations will pool financial and scientific resources to fund high-impact ecological initiatives, focusing specifically on deep-sea biodiversity preservation, plastic mitigation along Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific marine routes, and indigenous-led ecological guardianship programs.
