Minnesota State Patrol Investigates Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 494 in Bloomington

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal multi-vehicle collision involving two SUVs and a semi-truck on Interstate 494 in Bloomington, Minnesota. The crash occurred early Saturday morning, just before 4:20 a.m., in the westbound lanes of the interstate near the junction with Highway 100.

According to state troopers, the two SUVs—identified as a Honda CR-V and a Jeep Grand Cherokee—were both traveling westbound when they collided with each other. Following that initial collision, a semi-truck traveling on the highway subsequently struck the Jeep.

The State Patrol has classified the crash as fatal, though authorities have not yet specified the exact number of fatalities or released the identities of those involved. A total of four people were occupants in the vehicles at the time of the collision, consisting of the drivers of the three vehicles and one passenger inside the Honda CR-V.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remains active. State patrol officials indicated that they expect to release more detailed information regarding the crash on Sunday night.
