Long Beach State Hires Former TCU Coach Minyon Moore to Lead Women's Basketball Program

Long Beach State has appointed Minyon Moore as the ninth head coach of its women's basketball program. Moore, who recently led Texas Christian University (TCU) to national prominence, returns to California to take over the Beach program.

During the 2025-26 season, Moore guided TCU to a 32-6 overall record, representing a 26-game turnaround from the program's prior 8-23 standing. Her tenure at TCU featured two consecutive Big 12 championships and back-to-back appearances in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

Moore expressed excitement about her return to California, emphasizing her goal of establishing a culture of hard work and discipline among her players. Program officials highlighted her track record in player development, defensive strategy, and academic empowerment as key factors in her selection.

A formal introduction for Moore is scheduled for later this month at Long Beach State. During the event, she is expected to outline her vision for the program and engage with the local community as she prepares for the upcoming season.
