Long Beach Police Chase Ends in Crash, Injuring Two Deputies



In the early hours of the morning, a police chase ended in a dramatic crash in Long Beach, resulting in injuries to two sheriff's deputies. The incident began around 4 a.m. in Compton, involving a suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer. The pursuit continued into Long Beach, concluding with a crash on Atlantic Boulevard, north of the 91 Freeway.

During the chase, one of the sheriff's vehicles collided with an island and a tree, leading to the deputies' injuries. One deputy was transported to the hospital, though the severity of their injuries remains unknown.

Authorities detained up to four suspects connected to the chase. It is not yet clear if any of the suspects sustained injuries during the incident.
