Two Arrested After Fatal Stabbing of Finbar Sullivan in Primrose Hill, London
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of Finbar Sullivan at Primrose Hill in north London on Tuesday evening, police confirmed.
Officers responded to reports of a fight at the popular park at around 6:41pm, where they discovered Mr Sullivan, 21, suffering from stab wounds. He died at the scene despite emergency efforts.
Authorities also arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both individuals remain in custody as authorities continue their investigation.
A second man, aged in his 20s, was located nearby on Regent’s Park Road with knife injuries and was transported to hospital. Police said his wounds are not life-threatening.
Finbar Sullivan, a filmmaking student at the London Screen Academy, was remembered by his family as loving and ambitious. His father, Christopher Sullivan, said his son had hopes of following in the footsteps of his grandfather, cameraman Michael Seresin. Reports indicate Mr Sullivan had gone to the park to use a new camera he recently received for his birthday.
Detective Inspector Andy Griffin, who is leading the investigation, urged witnesses or anyone with video footage of the incident to contact police, emphasizing the importance of such evidence. Officers previously called on a woman seen recording the altercation to come forward.
The Metropolitan Police assured residents that an increased police presence will remain in Primrose Hill and surrounding areas as inquiries continue. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are still seeking additional information from members of the public.
