Finbar Sullivan, 21, Fatally Stabbed at Primrose Hill in London Park
A 21-year-old man, Finbar Sullivan, was fatally stabbed during a fight at the Primrose Hill viewpoint in London on Tuesday, according to the Metropolitan Police. Despite extensive efforts by paramedics to resuscitate him, Sullivan died at the scene.
The police response began after reports of a stabbing at the popular north London park. Officers said the area remains cordoned off, and are advising the public that restrictions will continue while the investigation is underway.
Sullivan, a filmmaking student at the London Screen Academy, reportedly went to the park with a new camera he had received as a birthday present, intending to film. His father, Christopher Sullivan, said the family had contributed to buy the camera for his 21st birthday. In statements given on Thursday, Christopher Sullivan described his son as a kind and creative young man, with ambitions to follow his grandfather, acclaimed cinematographer Michael Seresin, into the film industry.
According to the victim's father, video footage of the incident has circulated online. He added that a friend of his son was also stabbed in the back and hands while attempting to protect Sullivan during the altercation. The motive remains unclear, and the family deny any suggestion that Finbar Sullivan was involved with gangs.
Police have urged anyone with information, photos, or videos related to the incident to come forward, quoting reference CAD 6448/07Apr. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crimestoppers. The investigation into the fatal stabbing is ongoing and no arrests had been announced as of Thursday.
