Two Charged After Teen Boy Killed in Flitwick Collision

A 13-year-old boy, Noah Campbell, died following a collision involving a car, a bike, and a scooter on Greenfield Road in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, late Friday night. The incident, which occurred at 11:50 p.m., also left two other teenage boys with serious injuries, according to Bedfordshire Police.

Noah's family, in a statement released on Sunday through the police, described the teenager as "fun, bright, handsome, athletic and incredibly well-liked.” They expressed devastation at his death, saying it “has left a hole in our lives that will remain forever.” The family also thanked those who have offered support during their loss.

Following the crash, two individuals have been charged in connection with the incident. Jamie Fountain, 24, of Fir Tree Close in Flitwick, faces multiple charges, including causing death by careless driving, causing death by careless driving while over the legal alcohol and drug limit, and two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving. Additional charges against Fountain include failing to stop at the scene, failing to report an accident, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Ellie Ireland, 23, of Wingate Drive, Ampthill, has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Both have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear before Luton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Of the two other boys injured in the incident, police report that one remains hospitalized in a serious condition while the other has been discharged after treatment. Detective Sergeant Shona Searle of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire serious collision investigation unit noted the incident’s profound impact on the Flitwick community and stated that officers continue to provide a policing presence in the area for reassurance. Authorities have asked the public not to speculate on the details of the incident as the investigation continues.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision is ongoing.
