19-Year-Old Woman Dies After Dog Attack in Leaden Roding, Essex

A 19-year-old woman died following a dog attack at a property in Leaden Roding, Essex, on Friday night, authorities confirmed.

Essex Police reported that officers were called to the address at 10:45 p.m. on Friday, where the woman was found with serious injuries. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

A 37-year-old man from the Dunmow area was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death. He remains in custody as police continue their investigation.

The dog believed to be responsible for the attack has been seized by officers, according to Essex Police. Additional police presence has been established in the area, and investigators are appealing to anyone with information or concerns to approach the officers in the community.

Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper expressed condolences, stating, “My thoughts, and those of us all at Essex Police, are with the loved ones of the woman who died yesterday.” He added that experienced detectives are leading the investigation to determine the circumstances of the attack.
