Three Teenagers Charged with Murder After Fatal Stabbing of 16-Year-Old Chloe Watson Dransfield in Leeds

Three teenagers have been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Chloe Watson Dransfield in Leeds. The charges come after Chloe, from Gomersal, was discovered unconscious and seriously injured on Kennerleigh Avenue in the Austhorpe area of the city early Saturday morning. She later died in hospital, authorities confirmed.

According to West Yorkshire Police, Kayla Smith, 18, of Kennerleigh Avenue, Archie Rycroft, 19, of Middleton Park Road, and a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with murder. All three were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear before Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Police said an additional 18-year-old man from Leeds has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Two other individuals—an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl—were arrested in connection with the case and have been released on bail as inquiries continue.

Floral tributes have been placed outside homes on Kennerleigh Avenue, and forensic officers were seen at the scene Monday, following the tragic incident that has deeply impacted the local community. Chloe’s family described her as “beautiful, full of joy,” and said her absence is “immeasurable.” Her mother, in a separate statement, expressed profound grief, calling Chloe her “life” and “best friend.”

As the investigation continues, police have urged anyone with information to come forward. An online fundraising page launched by one of Chloe’s relatives had raised nearly £15,000 by Tuesday morning. The case remains active, with one suspect still in custody and others released pending further investigation.
