Man Injured and Suspect Arrested After Louisville Liquor Store Shooting


Shooting Reported at Louisville Liquor Store

A shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. inside Lorie's Liquors in the 2300 block of West Market Street in Louisville's Russell neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) spokesman Matthew Sanders.

Victim Injured Inside Store

A man in his 40s was shot in the stomach while inside the liquor store. He required surgery following the shooting. A police report stated that several people were drinking inside Lorie's Liquors when shots were fired from outside the building.

Details Involving Jacori Doyle

According to a citation, the victim was at the store with a friend, identified as 33-year-old Jacori Doyle. The citation stated that Doyle then went outside, fired several shots at no particular target, and drove away. The citation also noted that Doyle had been drinking.

Arrest and Charges

Police arrested Jacori Doyle a short time after the incident. He was charged with wanton endangerment and driving under the influence (DUI). Sanders said Doyle is not accused of shooting his friend.

Ongoing Investigation

The suspect responsible for shooting the man in his 40s remains at large. LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating the incident in Louisville's Russell neighborhood.
