Man Detained After Incident on N New Braunfels Avenue
A man was detained on Saturday morning following an incident involving two vehicles and reported gunfire on the East Side of San Antonio, according to San Antonio police. Officers were dispatched around 5:15 a.m. to the 1500 block of N New Braunfels Avenue.
Officers Find Two Wrecked Vehicles
When officers arrived at the scene, a preliminary report states they found two wrecked vehicles: a black BMW and a gray Ford F-150. The BMW driver told police that the man driving the Ford was engaged in what the driver described as road rage and that the Ford driver tried to crash into the BMW.
According to the report, the Ford allegedly clipped the front of the BMW, which police said caused the BMW to wreck. After the collision, police said the BMW driver reported hearing what sounded like gunshots and then fled the scene.
Witness Accounts and Detention
Witnesses told police they saw the man driving the Ford exit the gray truck and run in the same direction as the BMW driver while carrying a long gun, according to the preliminary report. San Antonio police later detained the man. The report states he was found with a gun light but no firearm.
Vehicle Confirmed Stolen and Evidence Located
The gray Ford F-150 was later identified by police as a stolen vehicle. Officers also located the BMW and found that it had bullet holes, according to authorities. Police did not immediately release additional details regarding injuries, charges, or the identities of those involved.

San Antonio police stated that the investigation into the early-morning incident on N New Braunfels Avenue remains ongoing. No further information was available at the time of the report.
