Tragic Electrocution of 24-Year-Old in Bengaluru While Charging Phone
In a heartbreaking incident in western Bengaluru, a 24-year-old man named Srinivas, hailing from Bidar, lost his life due to a fatal electrocution while attempting to charge his phone. The incident took place at a paying guest accommodation in Manjunath Nagar, under the jurisdiction of the Basaveshwara Nagar police station.
Srinivas had recently relocated to Bengaluru to pursue studies in computer science after completing his degree. According to police officials, he received a fatal electric shock while plugging in his smartphone, with suspicions that his hands might have been wet at the time, increasing the risk of electrocution. His two roommates witnessed the tragic event and immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital. Despite their swift response, doctors pronounced Srinivas dead upon arrival.
The police have launched an investigation to determine the causes of the electrocution. They are examining the possibility of a malfunctioning socket or a faulty charger cable. As part of the investigation, authorities have seized the charger for technical analysis. Additionally, there are plans to conduct an electrical inspection to check for any negligence by the paying guest accommodation owners regarding electrical safety.
