One Dead, Several Injured in Shooting at Sky Meadow Country Club


One person was killed and several others were injured during a shooting at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire, United States, on Saturday night. Authorities announced on Sunday morning that a suspect has been arrested and charged with murder.

The fatal victim was identified as 59-year-old Robert Steven DeCesare, who was having dinner with his family at the club’s PRIME restaurant. At least five other individuals sustained injuries, including a wedding host who was shot in the face and med-flighted to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, where they remain in critical but stable condition. Another restaurant patron was also shot, while additional injuries included broken hands, cuts, and other wounds.

The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. Eastern Time and lasted under one minute. Initial reports suggested two armed suspects, but surveillance footage later confirmed there was only one shooter. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau, a Nashua resident and former employee of Sky Meadow Country Club, was arrested within 30 minutes in a nearby neighborhood. Nadeau faces one count of second-degree murder, and additional charges are expected for the other shooting victims. Authorities reported no known connection between Nadeau and the victims and stated the shooting was not hate-motivated.

Witnesses described chaotic scenes during the shooting. Some patrons intervened, including one who struck the suspect in the head with a chair, helping to contain the incident. Several attendees hid under tables or ran to safety. Officials confirmed that the situation is now under control and there is no further danger to the public. Governor Kelly Ayotte has been briefed on the incident.

Sky Meadow Country Club, located on Mountain Laurels Drive in Nashua, New Hampshire, United States, is a private facility featuring a golf course, restaurants, and function halls. Club owner Rob Parsons expressed sorrow over the incident and emphasized the safety and resilience of the community.

Hunter Nadeau is expected to be arraigned at the Ninth Circuit Court in Nashua on Monday. Investigations into his motive and the circumstances surrounding the shooting are ongoing.
