Massive Drug Bust in San Jose as Deputies Seize 500 Pounds of Meth and Arrest Two Suspects

One of the Largest Seizures in Northern California

Authorities executed a major drug bust in San Jose over the weekend, seizing approximately 500 pounds of methamphetamine from a residence. The discovery is being described as one of the largest methamphetamine seizures in Northern California in recent years.

The raid also led to the arrest of two suspects, while a third managed to escape after a dramatic chase and standoff. Alongside the meth, investigators recovered a loaded handgun and around $4,000 in cash.

How the Operation Unfolded

The seizure followed an extensive investigation into a suspected drug trafficking organization accused of distributing narcotics throughout Sonoma County and beyond. Deputies arrived at a home on the 3000 block of Seven Trees Boulevard in San Jose with a search warrant on Saturday, September 6.

With the assistance of a trained K-9 named Duke, investigators located the large stash of methamphetamine inside the property. Officials noted that this significant seizure marked a major step in enhancing community safety.

Suspects Arrested and Charges Filed

Two individuals were taken into custody during the raid. They face multiple charges including possession of drugs with intent to distribute, transportation of narcotics, possession of drugs while armed with a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, and additional charges related to identity theft and conspiracy.

Both suspects had their bail set at $500,000 each as legal proceedings move forward.

Third Suspect Escapes After Pursuit

A third suspect connected to the case evaded arrest. Detectives initially attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle linked to the investigation. The driver first complied, but quickly fled, resulting in a high-speed chase that ended in a crash at a nearby intersection.

The suspect then abandoned the vehicle, fled on foot, and barricaded himself inside a nearby home. Despite obtaining a search warrant for that location and conducting an extensive search, investigators were unable to locate the individual.

Reestablished Narcotics Unit Leads the Effort

The bust was carried out by the recently reestablished Narcotics Unit of the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, which had been reinstated in late 2024 to address rising narcotics activity in the region.

This operation was noted as the unit’s largest seizure to date, marking a milestone in its renewed efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking and protect public safety.
