A Trail of Bold Armored Car Heists Leaves Philadelphia on Edge
A New Robbery Adds to a String of High-Value Thefts
Authorities in Pennsylvania are investigating a daring armored car robbery in suburban Philadelphia that took place on Tuesday. Two armed suspects are accused of stealing an estimated $700,000 from a Brinks driver — an incident that comes less than two months after a separate theft in which $2 million was taken from another armored vehicle.
Possible Connection to Previous Armed Heists
Police officials have not confirmed whether this week’s robbery is connected to previous incidents in the region. However, Lt. Andrew Snyder of the Cheltenham Township Police Department confirmed that his department is working as part of a joint investigation looking into potential links.
One earlier heist in June involved suspects carrying AR-15 style rifles who allegedly targeted a Brinks driver outside a Home Depot in Philadelphia, making off with more than $2 million.
Arrests Made in the June Robbery
Authorities have announced the arrest of three individuals in connection with the June incident. One of the accused, 31-year-old Trayvine Jackson, was identified as a former employee of Brinks — the same company targeted in Tuesday’s robbery.
Jackson’s attorney described him as a devoted family man with a solid employment history and no prior criminal record, emphasizing that the current allegations are at an early stage and remain unproven. Lawyers representing the other two defendants, Daishaun Hughes-Murchison and Brian Wallace, have either declined to comment or not yet responded.
Ongoing Investigation Across Multiple Agencies
Officials have confirmed that much of the stolen money from the June robbery has been recovered. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies, including local police and federal authorities. Details about possible suspects in Tuesday’s robbery, as well as any recovered funds, have not yet been released.
With two large-scale thefts occurring in such a short span, investigators are working to determine whether the crimes are part of a coordinated series of armed heists targeting armored vehicles in the Philadelphia area.
