Ishika’s family, especially her father, Shankar Bala, was her constant source of encouragement. “She never gave up, even during the most challenging times. Her determination to get back to her studies was unwavering,” her father said with immense pride. The Bala family, despite their financial limitations, rallied together to ensure that Ishika could continue her education during her treatment. They took turns caring for her, motivating her, and ensuring she had everything she needed to succeed.

When the time came for her to take the Class 10 exams, Ishika’s resolve was unshaken. Despite the two-year break from studying, she was able to focus on her preparation with the same intensity she had shown before her diagnosis. “I want to become an engineer, and I will take Mathematics in the next class. My dream is to become an IAS officer one day,” Ishika shared with a bright smile. Her eyes sparkled with determination as she spoke about her future.
