Lower West Side Shooting Leaves 15-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized in Chicago

A 15-year-old boy was shot Sunday afternoon while sitting near a sidewalk in Chicago's Lower West Side, according to Chicago police.

The shooting was reported at about 3:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of West Cermak Avenue. Police said the boy was sitting near the sidewalk when someone inside a nearby vehicle fired shots.

The teenager was struck by gunfire and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said. Authorities did not release his name.
