Edward L. Ford, a 52-year-old man who was shot during a confrontation in the West Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, has been identified as the victim who succumbed to his injuries nearly a month after the incident. Ford was engaged in an argument in the 6000 block of South Damen Avenue when he was shot multiple times on June 27 at approximately 5:15 p.m., according to Chicago police reports and officials from the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Following the shooting, emergency responders transported Ford to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was placed in critical condition. Despite receiving medical care, he later passed away on July 23 due to complications arising from his gunshot wounds.
