Deadly Drive-By Shooting Leaves One Man Dead and Another Wounded in North Lawndale

A drive-by shooting near a bus stop in North Lawndale, Chicago, resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man and left a 56-year-old woman injured on Friday afternoon at approximately 12:40 p.m.

According to Chicago police, the man was standing on the 3400 block of West 16th Street when two vehicles approached and individuals inside began firing. The man sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while the nearby woman was struck twice in the back.

Both victims were rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where medical personnel pronounced the man dead shortly after arrival. The woman is reported to be in fair condition as she receives treatment.

The scene of the shooting displayed shattered glass from a bus shelter, indicating the violence of the incident. Police secured the area to conduct their investigation, marking it as a crime scene.
