Shooting Wounds Two Teenage Boys in Calumet Heights, Chicago

Two 15-year-old boys sustained injuries from a shooting late Wednesday night in the Calumet Heights neighborhood of Chicago. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 9200 block of South Merrill Avenue, where the boys were reportedly standing outside and got into an altercation with an unidentified male.

According to the Chicago police, the argument escalated into a physical confrontation, leading the male assailant to open fire on the boys. One victim was shot in the arm, while the second boy sustained a leg wound.

Emergency responders quickly transported the first injured boy to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he is currently reported to be in good condition. The other boy took himself to Trinity Hospital and is also listed in stable condition.

As of now, authorities have confirmed that no one is in custody in connection to the shooting. Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
