Four Teens Killed in High-Speed Crash Off Chicago Bridge

Four teenagers died early Sunday morning after their vehicle crashed into a train car in Chicago while fleeing from police. The incident occurred around 2:16 a.m. on July 26 in the 6900 block of South Cicero Avenue.

The victims were identified as Cristofer Lopez Montan, 19, Yuarem Garcia-Pena, 18, Yaritza Martinez Villeda, 17, and Vanessa Morales, 14. Morales was set to start her freshman year at Palatine High School on Monday.

According to the Chicago Police Department (CPD), officers attempted to stop the vehicle after receiving a report that someone inside had pointed a gun at another individual. The driver initially stopped but then fled, leading to a high-speed pursuit that ended when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a train box car.

Two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third was transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition and later died. The CPD reported no other injuries from the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
