Fire Claims One Life and Displaces 60 Residents in Baldwin Park Townhouse Community

One person has died and 60 others have been displaced following a fire that erupted at a townhouse community in Baldwin Park, California, on Sunday night. The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported that the blaze started around 8:30 p.m. at 12828 E. Ramona Blvd. in the Alderwood community.

The fire destroyed at least five units and caused smoke and water damage to multiple others. While fire officials confirmed five units were affected, Goldstar Property Management, which oversees the community, stated that at least a dozen condominiums suffered smoke damage. The average price of homes in the community ranges from $500,000 to $610,000.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released by the Los Angeles County medical examiner, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
