Woman Arrested After Shooting Man Who Stabbed Her in Englewood

A woman was arrested on Friday night after allegedly shooting a man who was stabbing another woman in Englewood on the South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 10:55 p.m. in the 400 block of West Marquette Road, where a 22-year-old woman was involved in an argument with 38-year-old Marcus Young. During the altercation, Young reportedly stabbed the woman in the abdomen with a sharp object.

As the situation escalated and Young pulled the woman outside of the home, a female witness inside the residence shot him in the chest. Young was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The 22-year-old woman was also taken to the same hospital and is reported to be in good condition. Police have arrested the female shooter and recovered the firearm; charges are pending.
