One Dead, Three Injured in South Side Drive-By Shooting
Four men were shot, one fatally, on the South Side of Chicago on Thursday evening, according to Chicago police. The incident occurred near Washington Park in the 5100 block of South Calumet Avenue at 9:01 p.m. A black vehicle reportedly pulled alongside a large group, and a passenger fired into the crowd before the car fled the scene heading east on 51st Street.
Two men, aged 54 and 44, were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. The 44-year-old later succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, a 35-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where they are reported to be in good condition. As of now, no one is in custody in connection with the shooting.
