Two Women Hospitalized After Shooting in Garfield Ridge
Two women were hospitalized following a shooting incident that occurred around midnight on Sunday in the 5100 block of West 44th Street, according to police. A 32-year-old woman was shot in the left leg at approximately 12:38 a.m. by an unknown assailant who fired from a distance. She was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital and is currently listed in good condition.
In a separate incident, a 38-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound to her left arm. She self-transported to MacNeal Hospital, where she is also reported to be in good condition. The investigation is being handled by Area One Detectives, police said.
